Skin Safety Test

Using IPL or advanced grooming devices is not suitable for everyone. In rare cases, improper use may cause burning, irritation, or skin discoloration.

That’s why completing a Skin Safety Test is mandatory before first use.

If you have very dark skin tones (Fitzpatrick Type V–VI), recent sun exposure or tanning, or sensitive or reactive skin, you must proceed carefully or avoid use.

We strongly recommend consulting a dermatologist if you are unsure.

Important: Check Your Skin Type Before Use

Please check your skin type before using the device. IPL treatment is not suitable for darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick Type V–VI), as it may increase the risk of burns, irritation, or pigmentation.

If your skin falls under Type V or Type VI, we strongly advise not proceeding with treatment.

If you are unsure about your skin type, consult a qualified dermatologist before use. You can also refer to the standard Fitzpatrick Skin Type classification used by dermatological authorities such as the NIH.

Important Safety Guidelines

Never skip the test before full treatment
Do not use on tattoos, moles, or damaged skin
Avoid use after recent tanning or sunburn
Stop immediately if irritation occurs

How to Perform the Skin Safety Test

Step 1 – Read Instructions

Carefully read all instructions provided with your device before use. Improper handling can lead to injury.

Step 2 – Prepare Your Skin

Shave the area completely
Clean and dry the skin
Light exfoliation is optional

Step 3 – Choose a Test Spot

Select a small, hidden area of the treatment zone
For legs, use the inside ankle
For face, use under the chin

Keep the area small, about the size of the device head

Step 4 – Start with Lowest Intensity

Set the device to Level 1
Apply gently without pressing hard
Flash 3 times with 5-second gaps

Gradually increase intensity until you find a comfortable level without pain
This becomes your Treatment Level

Step 5 – Wait 48 Hours

Monitor your skin for any reactions such as redness, burning, itching, or discoloration

Step 6 – Second Test

Use your selected intensity level
Flash 2 to 3 times on the same spot
Wait another 48 hours

Step 7 – Final Confirmation

Repeat the process once more and wait 48 hours

Test Completed

If there is no irritation or unusual reaction after all steps, your skin is safe for treatment in that area

Different body areas may react differently, so repeat the test for each area

When to Stop Immediately

Skin rash or itching
Pigmentation changes
Blisters or scarring
Headache or vision issues
